The Reason I love you!
To: My boys...
Because of you, I grew huge and worried (and also quite nauseous) every day for a whole nine months.
But because of you, my life has altered. I have loved more, certainly laughed more and have been given more happiness than I ever thought was possible.
To: My eldest...
I love you because the day you were born, you introduced me to parenthood and brought me more joy than I ever could have imagined. I love that you are sweet and kind and how you always put others before yourself. I love the way you flick your floppy hair across your face and the blueness of your eyes. I love how you show patience to your little brother and how you look out for him and ask him to do things with you... even when he hasn’t asked. I love how you’re growing up into a thoughtful and bright young man and finally, I love how your teachers and my friends tell me how great you are, even though I already know. I am so proud of you.
To: My youngest...
I love you because you were the sweetest baby and always will be my baby, and even though you keep telling me that you’re now a big boy... You still let me call you ‘baby’. I love how you will try everything and how you, so very much enjoy making people laugh. I love how you like to talk about anything and everything, so that there is never a quiet moment. I love how you will come into my bedroom at least ten times a night to get a final cuddle and kiss. I love the way that you don’t let, what others think affect you and I just love the way that you find ways to socialise no matter where you are. I am so proud of you.
To: My boys...
You don’t need to count! You got the same number of words :)

I want to be a millionaire! (Part One of... Hmmmm, lets not be too hasty.. best to come back to that!)
“Doesn’t everyone” my friend says, after popping round for a cuppa and finding me with my hands stuck down the side of the settee! “Well, not everyone tries hard enough” I say. She goes to pop the kettle on whilst I move on to the arm chair, my hand is rummaging around the insides of the chair, when, I feel that cold roundness of a perfect coin “Ta da!” I yell, she comes running from the kitchen to find me with an 'I told you so' smirk on my face and the magical coin in my hand.
“Wow!” she sarcastically states. “Pennies make pounds” I smugly reply, “They may well do” she throws back with a grin “However, THAT, is no penny... it’s a 20 coin peseta!”

Tudor Day at School
Do you want a biscuit? NO... Do you want a juice? NO... Well what do you want? I WANT A SWORD!!! Rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
Let’s start from the beginning. Last night, my little gem, all of seven years old informs me that tomorrow is Tudor day and where is his outfit? Errrrr... “What outfit?” I naturally ask.. “The Tudor outfit” he kindly replies... by this time, I am throwing things out of his school bag trying to lay my hands on a letter that I’m so hoping isn’t hiding somewhere at the bottom of his bag, along with goodness knows what other germ infested things.
My hand closes on a screwed up piece of paper and I cringe.
Now as all mums know, there is an art to displaying emotions that you don’t really feel... so although, as I read the letter I am practically having a heart attack.. I smile to my precious little boy and say “Ah, here we go...I must have forgotten all about it” my heart is nearly jumping out of my chest and my brain is trying to work out how on earth I’m going to miraculously produce a Tudor costume in less than 12 hours!
So, I send him off to his room to do his homework and my gosh, I’m on the phone in supersonic speed. “Help” I say to my best friend, whom by the way, is one of those super organised people who always has just what you need in their handbag and for some reason, is able to get even the most irate person to lap at her feet within five minutes of meeting her, not that I’m jealous at all!.. “What have you done now?” she says... Now, there is a reason she asked this, as only last week I required her help to re-plaster the ceiling of my bedroom after an attempt to clean up the attic went slightly wrong... but that’s another story.. So, I explain the problem to her and she tells me to phone the local costume hire shop and collect one from there.. Why didn’t I think of that?
After practically tipping the whole bookshelf over, I have the directory in one hand and the phone in the other... “Hello” says the nice lady from the shop.. “Hello” I say.. “I don’t suppose you have a Tudor outfit in stock do you?” she is quiet and my heart starts pounding again.. “Erm, no” she says “we did have, but the last one got taken out this afternoon” my voice has gone and there is silence... “Are you ok?” she asks... Nooooooooo my head is screaming... “There must be something going on in school” she adds... I manage to squeeze out a “Thank you anyway” and then my head falls in my hands and I want to cry!
Big breath in... Hold... breathes out!! And it’s back on the phone to my ever patient best friend.
“Ok, no big disaster” she says... “I will pop round in a bit”... Fifteen minutes later she has a white sheet whipped into some kind of tunic, produces brown laces from her bag to fashion a belt... And has my little boy whirling round the room quite happy in his new costume!
Her words as she left... “As I said no big disaster”
Until Tomorrow!
